Terms of Service
The important one up front: Court Split is a tool for organising recreational pickleball. We never hold, pool, or transfer your money. Cost-splits generate UPI links so players pay each other directly — Court Split is not a payment service.
1. Accepting these terms
By creating an account or using Court Split (the “app”), you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy. If you don’t agree, don’t use the app.
2. What Court Split does
Court Split lets you schedule games, RSVP, record matches and a group Elo ladder, and split court costs. Features that put you in contact with people outside your group (“open games”) are restricted to adults — see section 3.
3. Eligibility
You must be 18 or older to use the open-games / meet-other-players features. The app is not directed to children under 18, and minors are kept off the stranger-play surface.
4. Your account
You sign in with Google or Apple and are responsible for activity under your account. Keep your sign-in secure and give us accurate information.
5. Money & payments (non-custodial)
Court Split is not a payment app, wallet, or payment aggregator. When you split a cost, we display a UPI link that opens your own bank/UPI app; the payment happens directly between you and the other person. We never receive, hold, pool, route, or settle funds, and we do not guarantee, mediate, or refund any payment between users. Sorting out who actually owes or paid what is between you and your group.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- harass, threaten, impersonate, or endanger another person, on the app or at a court;
- post unlawful, hateful, sexual, or abusive content, or content involving a minor;
- use the app to spam, scrape, abuse invite codes, or circumvent rate limits or safety controls;
- misuse open games to deceive, lure, or defraud other players.
When you meet anyone in person through the app, use common-sense precautions; you are responsible for your own safety and conduct.
7. Your content
You keep ownership of what you create (group names, scores, notes). You grant Court Split a limited licence to store and display that content to the people you share it with, so the app can work.
8. Safety & enforcement
You can block and report other users in the app. We may remove content and suspend or terminate accounts that violate these Terms or the law, and we may preserve and report content to authorities where required (including child-safety reports). See our Child Safety Standards.
9. Availability & “as is”
The app is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind. We don’t promise the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that ratings, schedules, or split records will always be accurate.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Court Split and its operator are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, for disputes or payments between users, or for anything that happens at a game or court you arrange through the app.
11. Termination
You can stop using the app and delete your account at any time (how to delete). We may suspend or end your access if you breach these Terms.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. We’ll change the effective date and, for material changes, notify you in the app or by email. Continuing to use Court Split means you accept the update.
13. Governing law & contact
These Terms are governed by the laws of India. Questions? Email support@courtsplit.app.
